APPLICATION
Fans for domestic and industrial ventilation systems. The air in tangential fans moves in a plane perpendicular to the impeller axis of rotation.
A tangential fan creates a flat and uniform air flow. They are used in equipment for air exchange, drying, cooling, removal of air and gas media.
Tangential fans are used in production of:
- Heat and air curtains
- Conditioners
- Fancoils
- Drying equipment
- Ovens
- Projectors
- Solariums
Tangential fans have various capacities and impeller geometries. The characteristics of the electric motor and impeller determine the direction and speed of air flow.
There are fans in which two impellers are installed on a single electric motor. The tangential fans can be installed horizontally or vertically.
FEATURES
Tangential fans are characterized by high air flow and low pressure (head). The equipment creates uniform airflow. Due to the low flow pressure, a dust filter can be installed at the inlet.
Due to compact flat geometry, mounting depth is small. Therefore, the fan can be installed in various equipment or in a protective casing.
The fan is watertight and is suitable for air conditioners and refrigeration equipment. The equipment can operate at a temperature of 40..+60 °C.
The fans feature high efficiency (up to 70%) and low energy consumption.
The tangential fans are characterized by a low noise level at a high air flow rate.
Tangential fans with a DC motor have a higher speed compared to AC models and create a higher maximum pressure.
STRUCTURE AND OPERATION
The tangential fan consists of a motor and an impeller assembled in a single housing.
Motor is located at the fan butt end. The fan can use both alternating and direct current (AC/DC). Fan motors can be brushed or brushless. The motors have various power and operate at a voltage of 12V / 24V / 110V / 220V.
The impeller is an oblong cylinder with blades made of aluminum, steel, or plastic.
The diameter, the wheels length, and the blades inclination angle determine the air flow speed and the pressure created.
The airflow direction is set by the impeller orientation (R/L). During rotation, the air is taken by the blades along the entire length of the wheel, and its flow is accelerated towards the diffuser.
The air baffle (diffuser) is a slot located along the fan body for the airflow to exit.
Air enters through the outer surface of the impeller. The directed flow is blown in a plane perpendicular to the cylinder axis of rotation.
The tangential fan is equipped with protection against pole reversing and rotor blocking. Thermistor protects the equipment from overload.
