APPLICATION

The electrode is designed to create an electric arc in plasma cutting equipment. The electrodes are used in manual equipment and 2D/3D machines.

They are used for metal cutting in mechanical engineering and shipbuilding, oil and gas industry, metal structures production

The electrodes are suitable for plasma cutting equipment of the following types:

The quality of the plasma cutting electrode affects the cutting accuracy, edge evenness, and overall performance of the equipment.

The electrode is consumed in a course of the plasmatron operation. The main reason is evaporation due to overheating of the insert. It is important to choose the right tool for the equipment model used in accordance with the operating current.

If wear is detected, the electrode must be replaced to ensure proper operation of the equipment and the cutting quality.

The range includes all the necessary plasma tools: electrodes, nozzles, bushings, screens, protective caps, swirlers.

FEATURES

Electrodes for plasma cutting equipment are made of standard quality. The use of cathodes in the correct operating modes extends the tool life and increases equipment productivity.
The high electrical conductivity of the copper rod provides the necessary current density to create a stable plasma arc and high precision metal cutting.
The production uses technologies that ensure excellent cutting quality throughout the entire service life, namely reduce the cutting taper, provide an accurate and clean edge, and increase the service life of the consumable tool.
The electrodes are made with a heat-resistant hafnium insert. Due to the use of metal with high vapor pressure, the service life of the tool is extended as much as possible.
The electrodes are easy to install and do not require maintenance.
The tool condition must be checked for timely replacement.

STRUCTURE AND OPERATION

The cutter of plasma cutting device consists of an electrode unit and a nozzle separated by an insulating bushing. The screen protects the plasmatron interior from melt drops.
The electrode consists of two parts: the housing and the insert. The housing serves as a current conductor and heat sink. The insert is made of a refractory metal (tungsten/hafnium).

An electric arc is ignited between the electrode insert (cathode) and the nozzle (anode). The bushing is used for connecting current-carrying parts and serves as an insulator.
Air is supplied to the inner chamber of the nozzle under pressure. Once in the electric arc, the gas turns into plasma and is blown out by a new portion of air through the nozzle opening.
The nozzle is cooled by air flow. High-power plasma cutting tools use liquid cooling, which provides a better cutting quality.
The plasma jet melts the section of metal above which the plasmatron head is located. When it moves along the trajectory set by the program or operator, the melt is blown out by the airflow and a cut remains in the metal.
The plasma cutting tool can work with 30-800A current sources.
